ICJ has been very lenient. Ordering Israel to stay in Palestine on certain conditions is like forcing someone to stay with his armed enemy in the same room

"Act to prevent it"
They're the ones doing it!

In March 2019, Netanyahu told his Likud colleagues: "Anyone who wants to thwart the establishment of a Palestinian state has to support bolstering Hamas and transferring money to Hamas... This is part of our strategy to isolate the Palestinians in Gaza from the Palestinians in the West Bank

ICJ has shown everyone today that my family in Palestine are not valued the same as the rest of the world and this proves that a new system must be put in place.

This is the first time in history that a country has been told to prevent genocide. It is the first time in 75 years that there is an acknowledgment of the atrocities of Israel towards the Palestinians. Israel has to give a report within a month as to the preventive measures they have taken, and give the report to South Africa, whose brilliant lawyers will look through it. Not as good as I would’ve liked, but much better than I expected, given the “follow the money” thing. Proudly South African.

Even though South Africa seems to be happy, this is a super soft court ruling, everything will remain the same.

The court was not very courageous. They were very careful about what they said and how they said it. But I guess it is "legal speak". Israel will find a loop hole.

I am confused. Why are the South Africans celebrating this ruling?

It was a preliminary trial, so the preparation for more detailed trials therefore comparable to the Nuremberg trials after WW2

If the experts at the ICJ that brought this case to court are happy about this ruling, then I must be as well. It's not what many of us were hoping for, a call for an immediate ceasefire, but it is a start. Hopefully this ruling will call not only the Israeli authorities to task, but also any nation complicit in facilitating this crime. I have to stay hopeful, to accept that there is no hope is to accept defeat and I refuse to accept that. I pray this will have a quick ripple effect to all nations and an immediate change of course from what we've been seeing and what Palestinian people have been experiencing for the better. God bless.

What about the thousands of Palestinian hostages held by izra before oct 7 and the thousands taken after from the west bank and gaza?
Shows their duplicity.

SI FUERA UN PAÍS POTENCIALMENTE RICO LA CORTE INTERNACIONAL SE HUBIESE PRONUNCIADO A FAVOR, PERO PARA LOS PAÍSES POBRES LA JUSTICIA NO EXISTE…ESTOS ORGANISMOS UN ADORNO.

IJC encouraged Hamas to release the Israeli hostages, but thats not of interest for Al Jazeera to report. If 7.oct didn't happen 25.000 palestinensians lives would have been spared, but thats not of interest for Hamas.
