🩺ABOUT DR. BREWER
Dr. Brewer started as an Emergency Doctor. After seeing too many preventable heart attacks, he went to Johns Hopkins to learn Preventive Medicine. While there, he went on the run the post-graduate training program (residency) in Preventive Medicine. From there, he made a career of practicing and managing preventive medicine and primary care clinics. His later role in this area was Chief Medical Officer for Premise, which has close to 1,000 primary care/prevention clinics. He was also the Chief Medical Officer for MDLIVE, the second largest telemedicine company. More recently, he founded PrevMed, a heart attack, and stroke prevention clinic.

At PrevMed, we focus on heart attack, stroke, and cognitive decline. We serve patients who have already experienced an event as well as those who have not developed a diagnosis or event. Dr. Brewer provides services via telemedicine. We find a lot of undiagnosed prediabetes or insulin resistance. Treating unrecognized risk factors like prediabetes allows reduction of risk and prevention of disease.

Thank you for instruction without obfuscation. Really does cut to the chase. So many of us enjoy mulling these sound bites.

This is a valuable video. They still push the stress test. Calcium Score, CIMT, CT Angiogram seal the deal for heart attack risk. Thanks for summarizing in such a short video.

How long does it take to have a regular Angiogram through the Groin or wrist done? Once prepped, how long does that actual procedure take? Can you be put out for this, or heavily sedated?

Wonderful new potential treatment. What was the main point of this production, go with the current CTA or strongly consider the new CT method?

Great video! Typical that before it started YT has to put a potato chip advert on.

but what about the iodine dye injected the body? is that harmful for most elderly already patients who were taking some ace inhibitors for hypertension?

I'm scheduled for a CTA today. The same doctor started me out with a nuclear stress test a few weeks ago. He says the CTA will REALLY show us the condition of my coronary arteries. Why didn't he just START OUT with the CTA? I'm really concerned about all the radiation I have been taking on from my primary doctor, neurologists, and the cardiologist from all these scans and xrays. I stopped smoking last week with the help of patches and I am making changes to my diet. My symptoms have mostly subsided. I'm thinking about canceling the CTA. But I'm really unsure about it.

Is it possible to have 0 blockage with a calcium score of 95??? I was told this after my angiogram, had a calcium scan done a year prior?

What about people who have this and it shows blockage but then they still have to have heart cath and then there's nothing there? Wouldn't it be better to just go ahead and have the heart cath and not be exposed to all this radiation doubled?

What if your taking Synthroid for low thyroid can you get an injection of iodine? Also do you need a script or can one schedule the test without a script? I know you can get a calcium score without a script. thank you.

So if one gets a CTA done will it come with a report and findings, say like a MRI would?

Would a CT angiogram extend into the carotid arteries? I have narrowing in the left carotid found on a carotid ultrasound.

I had a ct calcium score come back zero last year I’m 45. Seems no point doing angiogram

CT are huge in radiation
Hundreds of X Rays

There's a limit Of how Many CTs are max recommended per lifetime

The next most reliable test is invasive angiography... Ctca has good negative predictive value

Instead of putting a picture of your heart on the fridge you should put it in your wallets.
