If your iphone 7 / iphone 7 plus home button is not working you should go into your settings - general - accessibility - and then select assistive touch. Turn this feature to on, and you can use it as your home button until you get the problem fixed. You should then try restoring your iphone as new through itunes to see if this fixes the issue.

I believe we are looking at a future recall. My home button failed when I did an update. I tried to replace it with an ebay unit but it did not do anything at all. When I looked at my original home button under a microscope I found a crack in the ic chip. It just cracked all by itself. Now we have to wait for Apple to admit it was a faulty component. Use assistive touch for now. It can be set to work just like a real home button without having the menu come up each time.

This was a great work around for my defective HOME button until I get it fixed. THANK YOU! I just need a few days before I bring my iphone 6plus in for the fix and instead of trying to jam my finger to further break the HOME button. The assisted touch is great work around!
