I would definitely love to see an Apple Silicon based Mac with this design. For me the Trash Can had one of the best designs Apple ever made but it was to early for its time and with the old Xeons and the Dual GPUs it could get very hot inside. I love my Mac Studio but seriously it’s just a Big Mac mini, not a very intuitive design though.

I love that Mac Pro 2013. I have a couple myself - and it's my favorite Mac ever. Trash can M3 Silicon would be incredible :)

I’ve had mine since new, have changed the internal ssd, maxed out the Ram and even picked up the 12 core cpu for about £100. As of today it’s been a great machine and I have had zero problems with it.
Purchased a new thunderbolt dock and a 4tb ssd this weekend, this isn’t working though, using the Apple adapter but still no joy.
I would say the only let down of owning this Mac is trying to find thunderbolt 2 peripherals for it.

I actually have two trashcan Mac Pros. I acquired my first in late 2022, and my second a couple of months ago.
They were both stock 3.7 GHz quad-core versions, but I've upgraded both with a 3 GHz ten-core CPU and 64 GB of RAM. One has a 2 TB NVMe SSD and the other a 1 TB NVMe SSD, and my main (2 TB) trashcan also uses a Blackmagic Radeon Pro 580 eGPU that I acquired for a bargain price.
I'm extremely pleased with these CPU upgrades. The Mac Pros are very powerful and still highly-capable today, and not only are the CPUs I installed non-standard, but they're better-value than Apple's offical configurations. You could order a 3 GHz Mac Pro from Apple, but with eight cores; the 3 GHz CPUs I installed have ten. :D

I’ve been running my channel on a MacPro 6, 1. It’s fast enough for me.
Mine has the d500 graphics cards, I upgraded to 64 gb ram, and swapped the Processor to a 3 GHz, 10 core Xeon E5 (technically, it never was offered in a 6, 1.). But it runs great! I had 512 gb SSD from the factory and I didn’t feel the need to upgrade the SSD. SUPER FAST for an old Mac. I’m running Sonoma 14.6.1 with OCLP… just about perfect.

The only thing that is buggy is sidecar with my iPad. But that has not been a big deal at all.

I just got one second-hand, previous owner has upgraded the internal SSD to a 2 TB Samsung Evo NVME. I need the storage and prefer for it to be internal, especially with faster read and write times. My next option (for a similar price) would have been to buy a used M1 Mac Mini and use external drives connected via current gen Thunderbolt but with both it ends up being more costly. I also like that it has more peripherals and while Thunderbolt 3 would have been preferable to 2 (if only it had come out 1 year later!), the latter still has decent transfer speeds. The GPU doesn’t bench well compared to later single-core ones, but for the renders I do it is way better than my 2017 MacBook Pro.

I just got one from OWC for $169.00, and I love it. I used Open Core Legacy patch to put Sequoia on it, and it runs like a champ. I have it right next to my new M4 Mac mini, and my Mac Studio M1 Max. Mac heaven! This is a great computer, not what you expect when you read all the crap reviews online, It is just great!

Love the video sir. I bought a Trashcan Mac about 2 months ago now. 6 core CPU D500 graphics cards 256SSD. I love it runs like a champ handles anything I throw at it with Final cut Pro and Imovie. Paid $99 us for mine, which is about 74 pounds 41 pense in the UK

I just submitted an offer on eBay for the 12-Core Max Spec Mac Pro. The previous owner shoe horned in Sonoma, so I'm not sure how it will run. I might down grade to Monterey if I do end up getting it.

Literally picked up a 6 Core unit with Dual AMD FirePro D500 graphics and 32 gb of ram for $150 and it's in amazing shape. I really like it!!

I just purchased one for 263.51 pounds that had 32 GB of memory, D500 video cards, and 1TB SSD. I got it for nostalgic reasons but I get a kick out of buying something as you stated for less than 10% of the original cost, still can do work on it in 2024.

Hi, its really fast today, I put 64 gbs oem apple memory..Xeon e5 v2 2667 3.3ghz 4.0 turbo cpu upgrade, and a samsung 980 pro 2 tb m2 ssd, with a sintech adaptor, and my black magic score is 1549 read...1425 write..blazing fast.the 2667 ghz 8 core is Good.my 2013 mac pro was like 740 write.and 785 read before these upgrades...lol
