Awesome vid. I went out with Capt Joe a few yrs ago in July and we had a 6 hour local trip around the CT River and just outside. Caught 1 fish the whole trip, a schoolie. We were a bit upset but Joe tried his absolute hardest to put us on some fish, trying so many different spots, bait and presentation, and even extending our time trying to get us on fish. He is one of the good ones out there, but some days it just doesn't come together.

Need to get out with him again soon

Awesome video! So cool that you guys are catching the same fish we are catching in the Chesapeake Bay right now. They are amazing creatures!

As a kid I fished for stripers on the Block in the mid 70's, it was great.

They’re fishing the Southwest ledge which is very close if not past the EEZ zone. Many different spot there so make sure you mark your chartplotters for future reference. I lost about 10 cows last year to brown sharks.

I know... I KNOW I need to get up early if I want to catch these fish. Let me just say I'm really not happy about that, being someone who loves fishing and is NOT a morning person. :-} Most envious, boys!

Looked like an amazing day! Great video! Were those very thin/small zip ties on the artificials, holding the hook in place and preventing the lure from ripping?

I don’t get the spot burning comments, Block Island is a pretty long ride from anywhere, do you think all the fish are in one spot or area, do you think they stay there, they do swim ? I appreciate the information sharing, I’ll probably never get to Block but I might learn something that I can apply somewhere else. Good video, Thanks.

As someone who’s caught 40 pounders plus out at the ledge these ain’t past mid 20 class fish.

I love catching stripers but we need to stop stressing the big cows so there is better reproduction in the Chesapeake ! Leave em in the water and quit when there are sharks around is my two cents .

It’s disgusting how all these guys do is spot burn and make fishing less fun for everyone.
