For the first time it FEELS like the writers actually have new or fresh ideas (something that's new to them). Yay
Stagnancy over. It's no longer pretending to be somewhat boring. Or maybe it's simply a bigger budget, and the actors are happier. Who knows. But maybe that's only a production and narrative decision, this close to a wild election...

Politics and Ideology, that I now know the script-writers are not only aware of, but veritably, probably worship the concept of political victory as if it were their religion or hope for future. I wonder how many used to classify themselves as Hipsters or would resent being called Woke or fear being labeled a Marxist of some brand.

(I used to think of the actors performing lines as, well, PEOPLE, but learned to reckon with them as shallow archetypes jostled around by the pen of the script writer's rooms. So, truly, we war not against flesh and blood.)

When I was very young, 1987-ish, I was only dimly aware of general contours of politics (etc), it was all I could to keep up with the demands of daily sociality (long story). Entertainment seemed like an entirely different world full of wonders - even though I was constantly disappointed. When the TV was on, ironically, it was as if the gods of Olympus descended & beamed into my living room by some mysterious means. A one-way dialogue from places and things far far above and without me.

Surely the two (politics and tv... and more) aren’t connected in any way – and to draw any connections would be a no-no.
Back in the days when “one must not talk politics or religion” and “sh! Don’t talk. The TV’s on. Don’t interrupt!” [these days they add: ‘with your mansplaining.’ Gene Roddenberry's "Andromeda" on TV in late 2002, I tried explaining to my sister that the "Gog" were fitting much of the Bible's description of 'Gog and Magog'. She, in short order, basically told me to shut up & I was wrong. Which was not helpful. Anyway.] Yeah, familiar territory, these days...

Everything was unrelated, it seemed to me - in 1987. But what if: it were one world, and the scriptwriters were aware of it, directly discussing & implying it, in real-time… Doesn’t that simply sap the narrative and make it all a different type of contest – a different type of (face it) immersive For what is a narrative unless a combo of discovery, explaining, and hoping to persuade. Cuz it sure ain’t straight-forword socializing. If it were, you’d invite your neighbor over for a good time – or go visit him! But (speaking of when I first started watching TV in 1987, Star Trek (bad idea) without even a thought of what a theater even was…) H-town and Oak Creek were simply so far apart they didn’t touch at all – different universes (and I meant it – for the longest time I didn’t want to know anything about the process of producing the narrative because … I really enjoyed being lost in the narrative – almost any narrative – for decades. Too bad I wasn’t that way about actual history – nothing to pin it to, what did it have to do with me? Then came 2004 when I discovered: Christian Historicism. It all fit – dominoes or puzzle pieces and fragment clusters all began to form one single picture (forget mosaic, it’s way too precise for that). That’s the lens that grants my perception an ability to attribute any deep meaning to the title of this series. Shelter and property are our primary means of surviving… And what if religious AND political, artistically archetypal AND living meaning can be associated with it? I mean, Tower of Babel, sky is the limit, let’s make a name for this show now!)

What if, instead of living by enduring negations and accepting them - instead of nothing relating to me and me knowing nothing that others know - what if everything (nearly) related to me? I have found (despite every source trying to say otherwise) that is more true than not. And even not is not. So I cycle back to the question that seemed natural to me when I was young: what am I? Well, Glenn Beck reminded us a decade ago of the civil rights protesters who carried signs bearing the words in stark black -n- white: I Am A Man. (And as one assured me 2 decades ago: "not a boy.")

Good day. We'll see if this stays up. The question now is, as wild as societies 'get' to become, are they ready for what I would say? And am I adequately prepared to say it? No. Absolutely not! They can't hear and understand, I am not eloquent to say, I don't have a good arrangement to present much. And so writing privately is a good middle ground. It's practically the only thing (reading & writing in private) that I did that earned me even a sliver of respect, peace, space, and knowledge when I was young, sitting for hours at an isolated desk, tasked with 'earning' a 'grade' (out of short-sighted ambition and fear, nothing more - like a horse at the races with blinders on and without adequate context to make it all gel). So, for comfortable meaning away from shallow peer pressure, that's what I did. That and - watching & listening to low level art wondering about the realities of it all.

But that was the 1980's. And it was only a fake and doctored innocence: many multiple layers of institutions and obfuscations and deflections (etc). And everyone competing to be heard, but stifled by dominant - one may soon call the newer 2020's versions (if we don't change course): Kings of Empires. 1980's, feeling like I'm not getting anywhere fast, because I wasn't, it was a battle of wits, angles, narratives, TACTICS (one of those was that it was "just the facts ma'am.") Things didn't associate properly. I was being distracted & hindered by important busy work that refused to connect to other important busy work. Society, the fruits of college campuses to a great degree, all splintered about...and engaged in angles of interest that can only be called conspiracies of mutual convenience utilizing fear to keep others in check. It was 'NOT' a truly interactive, responsive, response able, competent WORLD. TV seemed more real, vibrant, connected, even empathetic by comparison (now wow has that changed in 2024!) It was in fact the mirror opposite: doctored illusions, maybe 10% reality (Reagan and his area, probably 30 - 40% helpful reality). So are we any better now? I blasted a show called Revolution (JJ's clan) on Hulu in 2013 for VASTLY inaccurate, and heavily one-way biased, depictions of historical religious themes (in futurism - that was the excuse). But I began to see through the ruse "Hey, that's not future-istic, and neither is it accurate and fair to all around in a balanced or realistic way!" I think that 11 years later, 2024, I would do the same thing, but without the excesses. And probably on my own private blog (as I'm trying to get to). It is all connected. And do I have a case or not? Do I have a grievance or not? I think I have - and I know the good & better ways. Not that the scriptwriters in H-town respect people in the vicinity of JD Vance... Nonetheless, what does anything even mean, if we ignore and negate too much of what is real, true, honest, or compelling? What is style and how should we relate? And how to have fun and profit while the world burns... Ah, I got to get to work. And I mean, practical work, cuz almost everything else is hollow & shamefully lying, or unattainable at present. So honest work means: things will be ok in the 2040s and 2050's, if I work hard and make it a success. STYLE? STAGE? NARRATIVE? SOCIALITY? has mostly let me down - preoccupying me and moving on before even truly, deeply, keeping pace with me. Well, who is the hare and who is the tortoise - measuring the value of the goals & processes, depends on what is being measured and what the standard is. Ultimately, it seems a bit circular - because it revolves around some unity of universal things centered around what is good for man. And a building is less - tho collectively made to appear greater. Than Imago Dei. (And I don't mean dead-as-a-doornail D.E.I. But that probably captured half the writers rooms 6 years ago. Such a stylized, layered, important cluster of processes - I wonder where it's all going, where's it heading?) I know. Yeah, if I were to pull my 2013 protest/prank today - with the volume & reckless investment I did then? I would have to be more specific. My narratives don't do justice to the truth. And it isn't like I had much help (at the adult level, from the educated) forming great narratives in the 1980's thru circa 1994. I mean, Braveheart wasn't even until 1995. And Lawrence Of Arabia & The Great Biblical Movies (Ten Commandments, Ben Hur, etc) were before my time. So my first approx 14 years were kinda screwed up, in haze, trying to stay truthful, optimistic, trusting, hopeful, AFLOAT and PROGRESSING... But hey, why not surrender to the Marxist struggle session that society had been placed in by that time? Let it all - go? Well, we need to hold to something. And it ain't those who Omit, Belittle, or Sideline the Bible, Historicism, and Freedom Of Discourses concerning both (I've learned the hard way). I may not have time to watch much these days. Much too busy keeping up & learning more important things. 'Just' thought I would type into the void & fill someone in. From my lil' spot out here in Wisconsin, Oak Creek right outside Milwaukee.
