Catnip Nation Official Trailer September 2019

Would you risk arrest for a cat? A stray cat? Would you disassociate yourself from your longtime political allies and upset your status quo to protect cats? Stray cats? Would you wage a public relations war to expose abusive government officials or police officers who take aim at (or exact revenge on) people who toil daily to improve the lives of cats? Stray cats?
The heroes of Catnip Nation have done all of these things.
Sue and Ray Jones, an older Kansas couple, have been arrested and charged with feeding and watering feral cats. They face jail time. Stanley Lombardo, a longtime Republican operative, turned against his party to fight for abandoned cats at a Long Island landfill. Ken Salerno, a devoted cat man, exposed his government for giving up on a successful Trap Neuter Return (TNR) program on the New Jersey shore, and singlehandedly relocated more than 60 boardwalk cats to a farm sanctuary.
Way too often, the Kens, Stanleys and the Jones’ of the world – and the innocent cats they care for -- are swept into political dramas. In Catnip Nation, we point our lens at this issue. We look at how our heroes became entangled with people of authority, how that authority abused them, and how those controversies ultimately victimize cats.
