VR Chat is the only near “metaverse” right now. Most people don’t know, but VR chat is NOT a meme game, that’s only what goes viral on tik tok but beneath the surface and 13 year olds, you can find everything in VR Chat, full body tracking professional dancers, dance classes/competitions/clubs, math/science/astronomy lectures, discussions and meetups (there was a mars rover presentation not long ago, that was given on mars, with a detailed model of the rover), night clubs, concerts, karaoke nights, movie nights. And I’ve only scratched the surface, I play like twice a week. So pretty much if you can think of it, it’s in VR Chat. And as someone who actually likes what VR Chat is doing I dislike how metaverse is being thrown around everywhere. It’s dumb. Stop.

JWST supposed to be autonomous at about 1.5 million or billion miles ( can't remember which) can't handle a wiggle and a vibration on earth, we got an issue. How is it supposed to handle the vibrations from launch and space travel. The launch alone is going to be rough with all that acceleration.

FB was scared to lose control over its social media in a realm where new kinds of social relationships can be formed. So they tried to brand it. But Metaverse is not something that can be branded like that - so its going to be profitized and diluted until it means nothing. And it does mean nothing really, when you dig down into it because it is a concept from a book. The internet was talked about for decades with different terms in different fictions long before it actually existed. So whatever the real VR universe is (probably going to be something boring like virtualnet akin to the internet) it will be something that people use to describe it and its networking substrate and that will be that. Honestly, if you think about the internet its just a bunch of shop-fronts and doorways set up in a space that can be used by anyone. The VRnet, whatever happens and whenever that happening happens... will likely be much the same.

The problem isn't limited GPU makers, the problem is manufacturing capacity by Semiconductor Manufacturing FABs like TSMC. How is this new company solving that, or do they have their own FABs?

the best Ryzen laptop cpu i would want on a desktop (if the platform and OC still possible, change to 2gig vram for the oc igpu and bam) as the laptops usually have better igpu (with good cpu-s) and if oc-s then real good.
