So glad I switched to Linux years ago. I still have to use Windows at work but I'm all Linux with my personal computers.

Remember when those people kept saying, if you don't like the ads, you can pay for it. You're getting it for free! You can't complain about the ads. Well here we are where we cannot even pay to be left alone by the ads. Honestly, screw those people.

I blame google android for the advertising idea. I remember when Windows was a serious OS rather than malware.

I'm glad I've revisited GNU/Linux this year. I was to lazy to learn the command line before but now I've got most of the basics down now.

I like windows 11 cool feature where they force you to have to connect to the internet during installation and then force you to have to sign into an online account to complete the installation. Now there are work arounds which the average user wouldn't know about and microsoft is starting to remove these work arounds as well.

Yes, the writing is on the wall. I'm not a Linux Geek or guru but with the looming Windows 11 system requirements there was no way I am buying/building 4 new computers just because Microsoft thinks my computer hardware is not new enough. The system I'm on is a what I consider new system and it still a very usable gaming system, Intel© Core™ i7-6700K CPU @ 4.00GH 32 GB system ram with a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 and it's not compatible with Windows 11. Really? Then I'm never going to let your OS touch another system of mine.

I switch to Linux mainly with Steam Deck

I still use Windows 10(and stick with this even past 2025) on desktop

1:48 Control panel is still a thing in whatever microsoft windows I use

That one the reasons why I'm switching to Linux once I got my new computer built

The last time I paid Micro$oft anything was an upgrade version of Windows 7 to get rid of Windows Vista. I don't have any M$FT stuff in the house these days, thank goodness. As for Settings/Control Panel, M$FT are too busy flooding the OS with Ads that they have no time to focus on sorting this mess out and getting some consistency. Glad I don't have deal with this rubbish anymore.

Not just ADS.... I use windows 11 Pro Admin Local Account and it used to reset password every 30 days and i had to bypass it through troubleshooting CMD from lockscreen and unlock it. Then i found that there's no option to never ask password in sign in option. For that I had to dug deeper in system to never reset password for my local account.
Unfortunately Big Monitor Company's like BenQ doesn't support Linux for Display Calibration Software. That's Windows will be there for enterprises and businesses.

i've been daily driving fedora and kubuntu for more than 2 years, and i'll have to admit, there are programs that simply don't work there unfortunately, others lack hardware acceleration, so in some scenarios i need windows. that said, i'll keep using windows till windows 10 is supported, afterwards... i'll have to admit, macos is looking good compared to windows 11, and it supports the programs i need.

Windows has it's control panel, as well as other windows inside of it, that are stuck in time - older icons, dark theme not working, etc., because these windows are coming from older versions of the OS. If you put the settings panel next to the control panel, it feels like it's two separate systems altogether. Windows 11 is the same as windows 10, just with rounded edges. I believe the Microsoft team could've done much better. Because they do have the time and money, as well as developers, to REALLY make an OS that would be the next generation - a proggress forward, not the additional layer of CSS on top of the Wondows XP setting we were given decades ago.

Imagine getting a new pc to not only have it filled with bloatware but now ads that you may not be able to get rid of. When it says it pops up the game pass thing when you're playing games, does it mean Xbox games or games like Bigfish games?

I am so pissed at Windows because I cannot actually turn off automatic update! Imagine you are writing a thesis with all the needed docs open, then close notebook and go to sleep just to wake up in the morning to a clean desctop becauae this f*cking thing updated in "non-active hours"! And I haven't downloaded any of it what the hell were you updating?!🤬 Now I am anxiosly save docs before even going to toilet😅 coz not sure that even pausing the update in settings actually help🤦🏻‍♀️

I"m so happy that I don't have to worry about Evil Windows nonsense. I don't even work for a company now that forces you to use Windows.
I was finished with windows roughly 10 years ago when a little tablet I had running Windows 8.1, and I'm one of the few people I know that enjoyed 8.1, forced a Windows 10 "free" upgrade. It was so free that it broke the entire system and that was the end of that tablet. I was done at that point and never went back. I put all my other computers on some form of linux.

When you think that you're getting this from a product that you paid! So, pay to get advertising! A new concept that only Microsoft could do!

Heyy, I am new to your channel, but so far I really like your content (and the intro, it's amazing)😊
Can I please request (if possible) to have a video regarding the Linux firewalls? To me, this is a very important topic, but I don't seem to get mich info on it. I want to know how to set up my firewall in Linux properly (and if I have to be mindful of something when doing so). Coming from Windows, I believe it goes without saying that the thread level in Linux is lower, but then again, one can always take some precautions, for just-in-case.
Thank you!

The logical fact is, unlike Linux desktop, Windows actually needs to support quite a bit of legacy hardware and software. Therefore, fish or cut bait would not have worked. I figure that at least with Windows 11, the settings panel is more logically laid out, although I would prefer that the user could make it in alphabetical order.
