Extradition hearings involving Huawei’s chief financial officer got underway in Vancouver, Canada on January 20, 2020. The proceedings are being held to determine whether Meng Wanzhou will be extradited to the United States on fraud charges.

Long story short, Canadian authorities detained a Chinese citizen for doing something not illegal in either country, only the USA

Everybody knows she is being used as a “bargaining chip” in the ongoing trade war between China and America.

There wont be any trade deal unless Meng Wengzhou is released, Canada is still paying the price whether the trade deal is successful or not, in the forms of losing agriculture export to China

Bank fraud? HSBC is a British company and Meng is Chinese. If this is about fraud, instead of sanction, does the US or Canada have the jurisdiction?
