IV Cannula insertion from start to the end.
I’m a lead Physician in a rehabilitation clinic in Glasgow. We mainly deal with opiate/opioid patients. However, later, we have had an influx of alcohol dependant patients.
Alcohol dependence is a different ball game to opiate/opioids. Alcohol dependency can cause extreme behaviour in our patient. With that, I insist we have 2 cannula’s fitted at all all time Incase one gets pulled out during confusion/delirium.
