It is commonly assumed that Dark Aether Zombies is in a parallel universe to the campaign/multiplayer universe. One could argue that C/MP and Zombies are in the same universe, with examples such as recurring characters, which can be explained away by the parallel universe theory. However, due to the events that take place on Liberty falls, it is implied that Zombies is cannon to the C/MP universe. This is evident by the fact that the multiplayer map “rewind”, and the zombie map “Liberty Falls” take place in the same town at separate times. Suggesting a government agency performed a cover-up after the events of Liberty Falls. Liberty Falls is a deliberate example of congruent events between zombies, and campaign/multiplayer.
With the statement above, it should be noted that, unlike MW, Cold War is not a reboot, and takes place after BO1. This retroactively implies Dark Aether zombies are in BO2 - BO4 campaign/MP. This leads one to believe that there are two separate timelines. One in which element 115, or Agarthans, created the zombies, and one where the Agarthan Device created the dark Aether. However, without the events of WaW Zombies, a chain reaction could not take place with the creation of the Dark Aether universe. So timeline wise, BO4 Zombies is the first game in the campaign/MP universe, and WaW Zombies the first game in the entire Treyarch/Modern Warfare universe. It should also be noted that Vanguard canonized the events of the Chaos story line to the Dark Aether universe. Effects of which causes Chaos to actually be Dark Aether. From my understanding of the timeline. The events of WaW - BO4 Zombies takes place before the events BO2 - BO4 C/MP and BO4 chaos zombies. This implies, unless there are shenanigans I’m unaware of, WaW Zombies takes place prior to WaW C/MP. This, in a metatextual way, makes WaW paradoxically its own origin in the overarching timeline.
Some fun things this messy timeline creates are that, before sinking, the Titanic was full of zombies. This is a plot hole, because bullet residue and prima material would be exposed to the public. BO4 zombies has a chronological order of maps, and not two separate story lines as previously thought. The multiplayer characters would exist in the same universe as the Chaos crew. Blackout implies, with the inclusion of characters from the Aether universe, in the form of “Archetypes”, that Savanah Mason-Meyer has knowledge and access to other universes. As well as locations from the Aether universe. This is huge due to the fact it implies the Aether universe was not destroyed as severely as previously thought, as she would have to acquire perfect data to recreate the previously stated Archetypes, and locations. JFK, Robert McNamara and Fidel Castro have parallel versions. Hypothetically, just like Richthofen, they could cross into Dark Aether, and would exist in the same universe as themselves. This is different from Richthofen, and Samatha who do not appear to have two concurrent versions. It is implied that non-fictional people would (i.e. the cast of Call of the Dead, and the cast of Five). It is possible that other Aether characters have a parallel self. Something I find funny is that Nuketown zombies predates Nuketown the multiplayer map, and could be the inspiration for all other versions of Nuketown.
In conclusion, Black Ops 6 implies WaW Zombies is the origin of the Modern Warfare Reboot/Treyarch universe, and makes WaW its progenitor. With the essay above, the timeline, as of 2024, would start with WaW zombies, and end with BO3 C/MP. Games such as BO1, MW reboot, and CW would therefore take place between these two games. The only thing that can’t be explained is the fact that B-list celebrities are able to shoot lasers out of her eyes, and there are cat people. There must be something in the Dark Aether.
I enjoyed the airtight game play, and storyline of the old CODs. Everything was grounded, and even cosmetics could be explained. BO3, and BO4 multiplayer takes place in simulation which can explain whacky cosmetics, and unrealistic maps. But nowadays, you’re supposed to ignore the b-list celebrities, and the advertisements operators. It really takes a person out of immersion. Zombies was always free of that, but as of Cold War, it’s all one big cash grab. This is all just to point out the absurdity of modern COD. I think that in pursuit of staying relevant and profitable, they have compromised on so much that made COD, COD.

Give us a stand-alone Zombies game!!!!

TLDR: BO6 proves WaW zombies to be the first cannon event in the MW/3arc universe, and BO3 to be the last.

Even with Liberty Falls being the way it is, I'm still immeasurably hyped for BO6. I'm drooling waiting for more marketing! I'm also glad to find you all over zombies again.
