I recently interviewed for a job and got an offer. I built up the courage to for the first time ever, negotiate my compensation and asked for $1 more than they were offering me. They got back to me days later via email informing me they were actually going to outsource the role.
This left me very confused because they decided to outsource because of $1. But then I just realized they were probably just "offended" that I dared ask for more money. This is a company I know, for a fact, negotiates pay with men all the time. It's okay because now I am more serious than ever to not settle nor sell myself cheap.
