For your last point, Japanese people tend to not use their leaves at work. That’s why the government decided to do a lot of holidays instead so they would be forced to have a break. That’s what I heard.

I was born in japan and came to Australia when I was in grade 3 and I got my stuff stolen so much because I would just leave things-

Pro tip, dump your trash in a convenience store. They tend to have trash cans outside or inside, and there's definitely more convenience stores than bins~

japan: we trust each other, we're generous, we don't steal, we're polite
usa: *hey kid, want some candy?*

Lmao, I just came home this weekend from a three week long language course in Tokyo and just from that short amount of time living in Tokyo, I can relate to literally everything you just said. Also, some additions:
- Heat in some toilet seats. When I first experienced it, I thought it felt weird, like someone had just been sitting there, but when I came home to cold porcelain toilets, I found myself missing it lol.
- The variety in products. Japan's conbinis have so much to choose from. I'm already missing a lot of unique drinks and foods that you definitely cannot find here.
- For the part you mentioned about napping in trains, I noticed that in the mornings, people will literally sleep while standing. And not just one or two people either, no, almost everyone standing in a packed morning train will have their eyes closed and just sleep like that.

no paper towels or hand dryers! I remember while I was an exchange student always walking around with wet hands lol. Then I realized people brought their own towels with them to public bathrooms... I was baffled

I noticed the exact same things when I lived in Japan and I appreciate most of them!
I like how little trash you see on the streets despite having no bins. It's so paradox when you look at European cities having bins on every corner but so much trash everywhere. 😂

When I went to Japan with my father, he accidentally left his wallet on a table when we had coffee.
A very kind lady ran up to us and handed over the wallet to my dad.
My dad said thank you but idk if she understood it haha
