The #whitesox lost their 112th game tonight, as #clevelandguardians pitcher #joeycantillo took a #perfectgame into the 7th. #andrewbenintendi broke it up and #bryanramos hit his 1st career HR in the 8th. #kap is critical of GM #chrisgetz who met the media prior to the game and said if he knew the Sox would break the #mlb record for losses this season he would’ve been surprised. But, he wouldn’t have been surprised if it was 105 or 110 losses. Huh?!! ‘Why say that,’ says Kap. This team is so bad as they’ll wrap up the record sometime by the end of next week.

"The cards we've been dealt"? Nope. Sorry. Getz and the Sox weren't fated into fielding a noncompetitive team this year. That was an ACTIVE DECISION. It's true that Getz didn't have much to start with following last year's deadline trades. But Getz and Reinsdorf had the option of tossing this collection of scrubs onto the field or signing a few mid-level free agents to make this a more functional major league roster. They decided in their cheapness to go with the scrubs, and are getting exactly what they asked for -- the dubious distinction of having fielded the worst team in the history of Major League Baseball.
