EDITING NOTE: When talking about Judith Butler I used She/Her pronouns but after recording I realized they have been preferring to use they/them since 2020 and only she/her in certain situations and I had not updated my knowledge. Apologies for this oversight

Ditto everything you just said about F1. I also have a lot of childhood memories intertwined with F1 and it is an easy way to bond with my Dad but I too can't explain why I enjoy it so much as I don't watch/follow any other sport....its an odd space to try and explain. Also love how on brand for Fitzcarraldo you are looking 😅

Great list of books! I'm planning on reading "Martyr" and "Wandering Stars" next month. Happy Reading! 😎📚👍

Great video! Definitely some interesting new to me titles here, thanks 😊 I absolutely LOVED A Small Apocalypse, easily my new favourite short story collection. Sadly Irena Rey was a little disappointing for me so I’m intrigued to hear your thoughts. My copies of Martyr and Who’s afraid of gender have been staring me down, I definitely want to get to them in April!!

100% feel you on the love of both football and f1. paticularly the latter feel such a juxtaposition to my core values. as you say, i feel such a connection to it... although since seb left i haven't been so attached.

love the look of these books!! especially wandering stars and judith butler's text

Love these recs as always! Reading scrap next so will let you know how I find it if you're curious! I didn't think Other People's Clothes was perfect but it was a lot of unhinged fun.

I hate the mosquito sound of f1 cars, so shrill lol. We studied Judith Butler when I was at uni and while they're insight is fascinating and their intellect is undeniable, their prose is so long-winded and cold.
