It is societal, but it’s also true that the majority of producers are male - so being a female producer is a massive marketing tool.

We are all subject to society’s wild generalizations about ourselves—
Being recognized as a very good female music producer when that’s not the norm is among the most benign and in fact positive stereotypes one can make so really let’s all just relax on this one 😂

I remember watching an advanced sound design tutorial with the guy saying...hello guys...and girls..as he said that he flashed his subscriber count ...only 2 percent were female.

Listen to this, then think about the label she settled and made records on and then think about the stupid comments by the john wick actress about that record label

I don’t know many girls that can produce… that being said the ones I do know are very good.

So it’s not that crazy to be impressed by that. Especially years ago. Victim mentality makes everything seem like an attack on you.

There was a black women called Mary Jackson who worked for NASA during the space race. People celebrate her for being a black women working at NASA during a time when there were relatively few women working there, let alone black women.

But this makes me think about it differently – why do we even care? Are black women not able to work for NASA or something? Mary Jackson is just one of many NASA employees. No need think she's special just because she's a women.
