Lions fan here. Hock is going to absolutely thrive with the Vikings. You already have incredible weapons at WR, a pro bowl RB, and an above average QB. Minnesota loves their tight ends; I remember Kyle Rudolph. This trade is going to make Detroit look stupid (more than they already do).

This is a big brain Move by Adofa Mensa. Back in the draft, we swapped picks with Detroit so they could get Williams. Adofa Mensa got a lot of backlash for trading in divison but what he was doing there was not only trading capital with the lions but he was establishing a relationship with the lions. Look where that relationship took us. So rare to see a trade like this in division and I don't think this trade happens if we did not do previous work with the lions way back when. Adofa is playing chess.

We got Hockenson for free basically. All it cost us was trading down picks from 2nd to 4th next year and 3rd to 4th (conditional) the following year.

Hockenson might be a short term rental for Minnesota. Can the Vikings afford to pay him and JJ when it’s contract time? Both are going to demand big $$$. These two GM’s are definitely scratching each other’s backs.

Lions weren’t going to resign him and already drafted his replacement. Might as well get something for him…
