Hi! My name is Angela and this summer I have been travelling all over the world. In this vlog, I travel to Vienna to explore Vienna on my own for the first time. I take you along with me as I explore the beautiful city, learn about its rich history, attend a Mozart concert at the Vienna State Opera, and eat the delicious local foods including schnitzel, sachertorte, kasekrainer, tafelspitz, apple strudel, and kaiserschmarrn. There will be many more vlogs to come so don't forget to like and subscribe!

My recent trip to Vienna was absolutely incredible. The city is filled with breathtaking architecture, rich cultural history, and delicious food. I was particularly impressed by the Schönbrunn Palace and the Kunsthistorisches Museum, both of which had incredible collections. Overall, Vienna was a truly magical destination and I would highly recommend a visit to anyone.

Thank you for sharing! I am planning on going to Austria (probably few years from now) as I do not have the needed budget yet, so I'm searching around for ideas and saw your video. ☺️

1:55 Personally I dont recommend this travel technique - you will spend about 40% of your time travelling and instead of actually visiting a place you will just manage a few tourist traps and move on. My advice is to choose one location of choice, use it as headquarters for 3 - 4 weeks and really embrace the sorrounding culture.
2:25 I dont recommend Cafe Sacher as a coffee house, far too touristy and way too many people. Would rather choose any of the other historic coffee houses in the city, Sacher doesnt have the best cakes in town either. If you really want that particular cake, go around the corner and buy it directly - there is no line there. You can also send the cake as a parcel to your own home address. I dont recommend Cafe Central for the same reason. There are better/cheaper and far less stressful options.
2:40 These are tourist concerts, average in quality but at least you get to see the Golden Hall.
3:00 Food locations? Where shall I start? xD The sausage you mention can be found in a number of stands throughout the city.
4:35 Literally every food stand, diner and restaurant in the city has that on the menu. Shouldnt be hard to find^^
4:43 Oh no! Bad Schnitzel really bad! If you ever get something like that again send it back! Schnitzel is supposed to be one thin piece of meat (there are dozens of variations). If they serve you multiple pieces it means they recycled food that came back into the kitchen, fried it a second time and sent it out again. Bad sign!
4:51 Why did they charge you 2, 2€ for the jam? Unless you asked for it specificly (and I doubt that) they basicly ripped you off. Garnish included in the dish shouldnt be charged extra.
5:20 Not the best Schnitzel in town, but really high quality, I have to admit. Let me know when you r around again and I can give you a few food tips^^
11:50 Like all the markets the early hours in the morning are the best - thats when you get the legit food items.
12:30 Karlskirche is one of the few chuches with an entry fee in exchange they have an elevator in there you can use to see the frescoes really up close. I recommend it for anyone with an interest in painting or baroque art - allows you an unusual look of perspective and painting techniques.
12:55 U3 Station Herrengasse is closer.
13:30 Sorry darling, but thats not quite right. As the product and the quality sold by every coffe house was pretty much the same they all created their own USP to attract customers. Some, like Cafe Dommayer 4ex had balls and live music of famous composers (like Strauß), others focussed on a particular type of clientel. There was one for writers, one for militaria, one for actors, etc. Cafe Central went for the progressive minds - it was a meeting point for socialists and communist minds and philosophers. You wouldnt go there depending on your political affiliation. Lenin and Trozky were both regulars during their exile in Vienna there.
16:54 Please tell me you had something nice to wear

PS: Neither Schönbrunn nor the Central Station are outside of the city - I believe what you meant there was the city center or 1st district^^

Your vid’s are really inspiring! I am planning to travel solo to Europe next year first time. As an asian woman, I am really nervous and scared. Did you experience any racial and gender micro aggressions? Any tips?
