Let’s return to Anne McCaffrey, and her science fiction fantasy blend creation called Pern. We’ll look at the second book in the Dragonriders of Pern series, Dragonquest. In this book a farflung colony is dealing with an astrological phenomenon that sees an orbiting body of their colony that sees this thing the locals call ”thread” that is a deadly substance. Our major conflict is between the old timers that came through time to help and the current people. What will happen?

So, weird request Abe, but I just got watching this because the Dragonriders of Pern books are something I've had on my shelf forever, but never really read. And, then I noticed ANOTHER book on your shelf that I have but haven't read. Have you ever talked about David Drake's Lord of the Isles? I've almost picked it up the last two times I've been thinking about starting a new book, but I'd love to hear your thoughts.
