When I hear the phrase "non fungible planet" I think of a potential campaign that.. educates an audience on the environmental impact that NFTs have. NFTs are not sustainable at all as it currently stands, but seeing that the videos never actually discuss this, it comes off as misleading. At best, it seems like they're saying 'we've only got one planet, so its non-fungible' but that message does not mesh well with the concept of NFTs as a whole when most people seem to be completely unaware of what NFTs actually are and what they do. Cryptocurrency is not environmentally friendly, sure there are ways to lessen the carbon footprint of cryptocurrency, but we're a long ways off from implementing that let alone reaching carbon neutrality. I have to wonder if they didn't tell the recording crew about the campaign and if they didn't, if they did so on purpose knowing there might have been backlash from environmentalists.

From what I’ve seen regarding this topic, YouTube is likely trying to associate NFTs with their series on climate change and Earth Day to give the notion that it’s an environmentally friendly technology so people won’t complain as much when they do officially support it on the platform. Just my theory, though.

I can appreciate them trying to bring awareness to the earth and wildlife, IF it's genuine with no strings attached.
If they're using it to monetize, that's pretty shady.

seems like they’re gearing up for some massive NFT related action but want to prime us for it with all these earth day shenanigans, what with NTFs having a bad wrap/being seen as bad for the environment. i’d already heard youtube might start incorporating NFTs somehow but they’re going about it in a much more calculated way than i would have expected. even more eerily, i haven’t seen ANYBODY talking about this non fungible planet stuff, and only happened to stumble across it.

it’s all so vague. something big is going on behind the scenes.

Funny! Around this time last year, the only NFT on my radar was 'Nutrient Film Technique' ...another hydroponic method of gardening!
It sounds to me like they are trying to lockdown the term "Non-Fungible" claiming the sole ownership of it as it is part of the protected phrase 'Non-Fungible Planet'.

about 30 years ago, i was married and renting from a retired deputy and we were talking about robberies and having shoot outs. this is before i will be in iraq and be shot at, return fire and be able to really know what goes on inside a person, (me and others) when some body you don't know, never met and are not related who has a valid reason to kill you; & wants to kill you. but we got to really talking wealth, money and you rob a mom and pop shop, kill someone for 24 dollars or less and the real wealth is on the shelf. the food, the goods and services that the store sold. your criminal is digging in the feces of filthy money when the riches are on the branches above.

is youtube going to start feeding creators the feces of money when the wealth is above.
