Nodejs and mysql using sequelize & passport part 19 - Auth part 1

So it's the beginning of the end. Not really, but passport will probably make you feel that way after a few videos.

When i first started working with passport and user authentication in node I was ready to throw my hands up and quit more than a few times. This stuff is clear as mud.

In this tutorial we're going to start getting things setup for passport, introduce you to its documentation, and walk through some of the steps we'll need to take.

Forewarning, we'll be deviating from sequelize for a good portion of these auth videos, because except for looking up users we won't need too much of it here.
