Big BYU fan love the Puka Nacua shoutout. He’s a complete wide receiver, saw him come down with a lot of crazy catches. Also can run jet sweeps and stuff and be productive there he should be a good asset for who ever drafts him

The Broncos lost most games last year by one score. Hackett barely practiced the guys and had no firm offensive identity. If the defense holds up from last year, having a clear leader in place like Payton with a firm offensive identity will be huge and we could see a very surprising turn around for a lot of people.

I disagree that Sean Payton and Russ can’t be a scheme match, definitely Russ has been hard to work with in general and Payton likes a lot of that short game/option stuff but I think that’s conflating his tendencies with catering his offense to late career Drew Brees a little bit. Payton is well known for being extremely personnel-diverse and adapting to his players so I think you could definitely look more to the earlier Saints who stretched the field a ton. I will say he seemed hesitant to do the same for Jameis but I think that has to do with not trusting him at all (hopefully Russ gives more reason to trust?) and the rest of the team lending itself to playing defense and methodical offense like they had established. Also by all accounts this was never a ‘real’ retirement but more of a time away, reset situation. As a Saints fan I wish the year of the 1st and 2nd were switched and don’t really like that we sent a pick back but I think it’s a massive win-win overall. Two darts at likely non true 1st round talent for the best shot at securing the most important thing there is, high level to maybe elite coach and culture. Meanwhile we get some significant assets for a contract we couldn’t use.
