Folle de joie à l'idée de rencontrer le président américain, la centenaire a esquissé quelques pas de danse. Partagée hier (dimanche 21 février 2016) sur la page Facebook de la Maison Blanche, la vidéo est rapidement devenue virale.

for a moment put yourself in her shoes and live vicariously in the moment. a 106 year old black woman who lived to experience a black president.. it really puts everything in perspective but still have so far to go

When I'm down and I feel like giving up a task I look for this video for a smile. This lady have lived in the DC area for 106 years. She is a living history book that has witnessed the best and not so best of our history. I love the way she looked at the president with so much pride and admiration Regardless of your politics this will be the same pride and joy that anyone will feel if one of their own is the US President. E.g. a US President from smalltown USA.

A quick round on my calculator. She was 25 yrs old in 1935. That was 20 years prior to Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on the bus. That was 28 years prior to Martin Luther King held the speech "I have a dream". I am not American and I am not black, but I can understand why she is dancing! Dance Virginia!! o)
