1 Tipping really needs to be phased out, it’s barbaric to expect servers and food industry workers to supplement income based on the kindness of strangers. 2 the food industry is in a serious financial decline, most establishments can’t afford to pay their workers a living wage without adding that cost to the customer.

All this is a cost of living issue, the food industry is a luxury expense and as cost of living increases people can’t afford to support it. Dude is right, we all broke out here.

However, as someone who has worked for DoorDash, we make most of our money off of tips. Much like the service industry, people have been paying wait staff so low, that everything they ever really make is based off of tips. But tipping culture is so wild. Most places around the world pay their wait staff decently and tipping isn’t even considered.

I tip very good. Take ordering pizza I usually tip 15-20 bucks and the store is 2 miles away straight shot on a highway frontage road.

But when you try to force me to tip I don’t tip shit. I’ve told a few places who refused to let no tips happen. That I have the receipt and total for my bill. If you change that I will purse any and all legal action against them.

Usually try to carry cash so I can pay exact amount when forced to tip.

As a delivery guy I don’t blame people for not tipping. You know I tip here and there, but I don’t tip frequently. It ain’t a cheap one either. I tipped this women $10 to deliver my food when I used to have a binge-eating disorder. But what I can’t stand is the hypocrisy when there are employees that yearn for tips but don’t go around reciprocating that.

I generally tip well, but if you are taking away the choice to not tip, i will purposefully seek out that option. If they want to make a stink about it, id tell them to refund the whole thing and ill leave.
