Dear Youtube, please work on the following:
1. Revert the images format in Community Tab to 16:9. No one asked for the 1:1 format (at least give an option to choose).
2. Fix the notifications system.
3. Be more transparent on the YouTube algorithm updates. Video performances vary a lot due to the constant tweaks. It's totally ok to fine-tune it, but we would like to know what is being changed (Give us numbers on Click-through ratio, CTR, Watch Time etc.) we want to know what made a video get recommended but not the other. Would help a lot.
4. Give proper feedback on demonetization (doesn't affect me but I've seen a lot stories of people getting demonetized without warnings & with very vague reasons).
5. Make the new Dashboard faster. As much as I like it, it's a lot slower than Classic.

Working on new features is all good but some fundamental YouTube functions need work and should be prioritized.

Live streaming using the Live Control room is super useful. Please never do away with it. It helps me tremendously. 👍 Oh and thanks for hooking us all up with such a dope tool. I really dig the new features.

The problem that I always seem to have with the live streaming is that when the subs are leaving live comments, they don't seem to help or be counted as interaction once the stream is over. They usually don't come back and watch the video again, so it dies fairly quickly because of the algorithm. I actually stay away from live streaming because of this.

Honestly I appreciate the changes, but with you removing support for Google hangouts, it's really upsetting to not see any new updates for bringing guests into your live streams right within YouTube. It's incredibly difficult to do workarounds and this should be a native feature.

Hey guys, I think sponsors should be able to use emotes from channels they sponsor throughout the youtube ecosystem as this will encourage viewers to sponsor to channels they love and show there support everywhere they go on the youtube platform

#5 Would be a great feature for Scheduled Videos (non-live video). That way we can see the videos that are coming up. Still would like the calendar feature, but since you already programmed this feature it might be something to implement quickly.

How about treat past live streams like uploaded videos? I do livestreams and in the beginning I'll talk about the major topic, basically I'll shoot a 2-10 minute video about a topic and then talk with the audience the rest of the live and after I'll go to the editor and cut the back end off so I only have a 2-10 minute video about a key topic. But when I compare the impressions to other videos months later my livestream has as much as 90% less impressions which I feel is YouTube not treating an old livestream like it's an uploaded video. It really prevents me from doing livestreams more because I want my content to live on after I do it. But livestreams basically die overtime. I've tried editing thumbnails, titles, tags everything to see what changes it. Doesn't seem to matter other than YouTube just doesn't share the old livestream like my other videos. Even when my livestream gets more views and engagement than other videos on my channel it will have a much lower impression rate which leads me to believe it's entirely internal on YouTube and how they categorize an old livestream vs a video upload.

When one goes live with "Webcam" please please please ad the following tools
1. add a co-host (like you could with hangouts)
2. Give the ability to share your PC screen (like you could with hangouts)

They should add clips for live streams kinda like how twitch does it, that would be pretty neat. Also have a section for people to discover them.

One BIG problem with the new control room...
Captions do not play on the live stream to mobile devices through the new system.
However they do play on ALL devices through the classic live system layout.

I did a stream with this new Dashboard today and here's my thoughts:
All the new live data of the stream is fantastic, particularily the number of playback visitors, which finally let's us know how well we're doing in retaining new viewers who jump in mid-stream.
My one big request would be to bring back the customizability of the layout that we used to have in the old stream dashboard where you could move each wiindow around wherever you want on the page. My stream setup has it so that my dashboard is on my right monitor, so I always like to place the stream chat on the left side of the page, that way I don't have to turn my head so far to read chat while I'm looking back and forth between the main stream monitor on the left. The work around I did for this was to use pop out chat, then minimize the stream window so I could slide it over to the right and make room for the chat, which works fine for now atleast.
The other small thing I'd want to ask is fixing the DVR recording to not automatically default to save each stream. It's a bit of a chore to always have to set the DVR to not record every time I set up stream, but otherwise, not too big a deal.


Overall, really like it! just a couple quality of life improvements would be nice; as a creator with livestreams as my main content format, thumbs up from me. I feel like this is now really close to becoming a clear choice for YouTube being a better streaming platform than Twitch. The last big thing Twitch has that YouTube doesn't at this point would be raiding other streamers, plus the ability to voluntarily watch ads for bits to donate

I like the save the clip feature. I enjoy streaming on youtube, so this is great to hear. I can't wait till it's added to my elgato stream deck, so I can just press a button to have it clipped fast. I have one suggestion though. From a watcher of youtube live streams, I find it difficult to find live streamers on my TV app... I would love to have a browser by game option or browse by top streamers. Otherwise, I'm limited to just recommended or my subscriptions for live streaming content.
