Whenever i see something as 'leaked' when it comes to policies i automatically think it was done on purpose to gauge public opinion so they can pick which policies will get them elected for the official policies.

At this point i'm just desperate for Keir to propose any meaningful policy. He seems to have gone back on so many key promises in an attempt to appeal to the moderates, and while I agree winning is important (because the tories are just so awful), I'm not confident he's going to achieve anything beyond denying another tory government.

Any party that is committed to fix the housing issues in our country will get my vote. I just hope they keep their promises.

Context we should remember here:
- this is a draft
- things could change come election time
- Keir has gone back on initial promises before
- Promises are more ideas that they will aim for, policies with numbers are stuff they're more likely to actually do

It's a start at least. I am glad there is at least some mention of more pro worker policies, and honestly kinda surprised it's mentioned as specifically as pro union, but hey no complaints here. Investment into green energy is good, but what I wonder is how much of it will be state owned vs private owned, bc lets be fucking honest we are getting gouged by private energy companies atm, so what is going to be put in place to stop WindFarmScotEnergy not milking us dry?
The ideas and promises seem to be heading in good directions, but also vague and a bit bare boned.
No mention of Proportional Representation makes me a little worried labour are getting complacent and kinda wanna hog all the power to themselves.

Also elephant in the room. Britain's relationship with the EU. From a getting votes persepctive, I can see why it was not brought up, but I can not help but think there would be better ways of approaching this, which would also b more attractive to everyone. Ofc I would want to rejoin the EU, for a number of reasons, but failing that you want to enable discussions with the EU to slowly makes things easier. For example, maybe negotiating with the EU that visitor / tourist visas could last longer than normal, to increase tourism,
or even if you're a tourist that has gone through checks say in 2023, you can be placed on an express list for the next few years where you only have to show ID, rather than full checks.

I’m disappointed that the ways they plan on tackling crime is more police and worse punishments. What about community outreach, social support, etc., which will help people to avoid crime?

Training more medics won’t necessarily help the staffing crisis. Plug the hole before pouring in more staff. Help doctors and other healthcare staff feel valued and fairly paid, then they’ll stay.

Just to bring it to your attention, at 1:54 the document states "£28bn of public capital A YEAR" rather than just £28bn in general as was stated in the video.

This means over a 5 year government, we should expect £140bn of spending.

If we invest 28 billion a year in the private sector for energy then they damn well better be getting huge shares in those companies or taking them into public ownership.
Otherwise that idea is absolutely appalling, its just free money for the ultra greedy energy providers.

would really like to see some reform to the student finance system it's a total mess especially with the massive drop off for postgraduate degree support for both tuition fees and also maintenance

I'm quite upset that Labour's commitment to introducing sectoral collective bargaining across the economy has been watered down.

A good couple of ideas if there in the manifesto then they have my vote

Interesting, although under Starmer's leadership its clear that all Labour's policies and assurances are subject to sudden change. This I think will become a much bigger issue if and when an election is called. Given way in which Starmer became leader and his actions since there will be quite a lot of doubt as to whether he can be trusted to keep any promises he makes.

Proportional Representation. WHEN are we going to get electoral reform that better represents the country? Not a single mention of a move away from the adversarial, two party, first the post system.

A good few promising things on here.... Lets see what happens

I hope they invest more in Nuclear energy. It has large potential and is the only real way to tackle global warming too. A state owned nuclear company like France's EDF would be cool.

Starmer had to come up with some new pledges to break eventually, the first 10 clearly weren't enough.

So make misogyny a hate crime, but not misandry?

3:07 "Cracking down on tax evasion and avoidance" is not a reform it's a permanent standing responsibility of HMRC. An inland revenue service without this function would be a laughing stock. Labour need to reform HMRC operational priorities which essentially means re-orientating/replacing management and providing extra resource.

If misogyny is a hate crime then misandry should be a hate crime too.

Still no proposal to increase the minimum wage to tackle the cost of living crisis. Unfortunately no one in britain is ready for that conversation.
