if you use the normal vector arent you finding the equation of the line that contains the normal vector, or in other words a plane perpendicular to the plane instead

I thought parallel planes didn't have the same normal vector though? My prof taught us that if there is a scalar multiple then its parallel, but it isn't the same vector.

when you say normal vector to plane, that means the same as orthogonal or perpindicular right??

But what if it was perpendicular to the plane? It looks like you used the same method for parallel and perpendicular?

What if the point is in origin(0, 0, 0). Is the constant always 0 then?

Excuse me, but that plane not containing that point (4, 7, -7), in the equation x-5y-4z= -3 -> 4=-3
