I'm Turkish and I would have never expected to see a Saz on Graham Norton! That's wild. Fun fact, the stringed instrument you hear on the Witcher OST is a saz. The bit he played at the start reminded me of the Witcher

WOW is there no end to Bill Baileys talent. Candle in the Wind on an instrument that only has x3 strings!

He is AMAZING! I saw him on his "En Route to Normal" Tour in 2021 and he was supremely talented, both in stand-up comedy and music! 👏🏻

I love this instrumental of this song . More musicians should use this Saz instrument. It's a cool sound 😎 Thanks Bill 😘

What is the song he played at the beginning? I love it so much!

That instrument has more in common with an Irish bouzouki than a Turkish saz. It has no quartertone frets, and the shape and size of the body are very different.

Like Bill I also sport a 'Skullet' (bald headed Mullet).

It is a Turkish saz. But it must have been built on a specific order. Traditional Turkish saz doesn't look like that in phenotype.

This instrument is not a saz. The fret system of a bağlama or saz is different and includes microtones. The instrument here resembles a Greek bouzouki more.

Not too bad... all instruments considered! 😅 as Bill once said at his show.

Great performance by all means. Keep on playin'. 🇬🇧🇹🇷
