COPIC MARKERS | Where to start?? | TIPS FOR BEGINNERS

Hello everyone!
A lot of people have been asking where to start when it comes to getting your first Copic markers. In this video I talk a bit about the first markers to get, along with the next set to buy after and where to go from there!

I just got 5 copic ciaos!!!! They're my first ever copics!

In case it helps anyone, or you want some more opinions on good beginner copics, my first copics were the copic ciaos because their cheapest and they still work just as good as the sketch markers and the original copics (in my opinion). The colours I got were, fruit pink, powder pink (both of these are skin tones), black, sepia (brown), and chrome orange (only because I got it for free). I honstly couldn't be happier with the choices, with these colours you can colour in the skin, hair, a bit of clothing and outline your pictures. Don't know if this helped anyone, just wanted to share my first copics :)

For my first (and at this time only) set of copic markers, I got the skin tones as well. I only got 6 sketch markers in my set, and they are cotton pearl, barley beige, light suntan, dark suntan, copper, and blush

I'm gonna get all the base colors. Wish my 240 Dollars! Then if I have extra money ill work on with light and dark shades. I cant wait to go to Micheal's!

I think it's good to have colour groups! For example:
If you have B05, you might want to get B02 or B06!

thank you! i'm still fairly new to copic markers, i've always known of them but i never got ahold of them due to how pricey they are. But i do think getting them slowly and building a collection is more fun and financially efficient for me (broke college student lol). I just got the copic ciao markers in the skin tone set, they came with 6 instead of 8 at michaels but i got them on sale luckily. Before that i got a set of six copic sketch markers in blue shades, and i think i'm pretty much going to go with getting monochromatic sets of them little by little if i can, or even 1 by 1.

I bought a skin tone set, and then got a few blues because I use blue alot, and then I use water-based markers for the colors I dont have, and I blend them with q-tips to blend/lighten them. Eh, it works for me!

I love the idea of mixing media, especially at first to stretch the copies and make a few of them work more extensively and in a more versatile way. I just got a 24 pack of ciaos for Christmas and I’m growing frustrated because only a few of them are close enough in tone to actually blend well, but I have a much larger collection of prismacolor colored pencils so I’ll definitely give mixing them / shading with pencils a try! Thanks!

I have about 30 copic ciaos, and what works for me is to have about 3 of the same type of colours to be able to blend and at least 5 as skin tones. Thanks XXX!!!

When do you recommend to buy copic markers?
Im someone who started drawing and yes, ofc I should learn basic stuff like proportions, drawing eyes/hands/whatever, but Im still not sure.
I really, really like Copics and love how pretty they look in art, so I wanna use them SO badly.
But I will wait since 1st they are pricey and 2nd a total noob like me won’t be able to handle these :‘)
They is a HUGE collection of Copics in my fave art supplies store and always when Im walking by Im almost tempted into buying at least two. ;-;
