Russian Forces Are Closing In On Ukrainian City As 26,000 Residents Remain

The current situation in Pokrovsk, Donetsk, is becoming increasingly dire as Russian forces continue their advance in eastern Ukraine. With Russian troops now just 8 kilometers away and intensifying their shelling, Ukraine has imposed a strict curfew, allowing the remaining residents only four hours per day to move around. Once a lively city, Pokrovsk—previously dubbed the “Las Vegas of Donetsk”—is now largely deserted, with 90 percent of businesses closed due to the conflict. As Russian advances push closer to the front line, many residents, like local business owners, are being forced to leave behind their homes and livelihoods.

It must be awful having to leave everything behind😢 We have a lot of Ukrainian refugees in my country. I try to help them as much as possible but they are all very traumatized.

That seems like such an alien position to be in. Living in America in the last thirty or forty years there isn't even a wiff of a foreign physical threat in our psyche. Its ironic given the founding of this nation gave way for genocide. The colonialists failed in their manifest destiny ideology. The indigenous cultures are very strong in many ways. Chief among them is their identity. Their consciousness is imbued with it. They are indigenous/native and have their own names and languages. I suspect the divinity in our democracy is rooted in their wisdom. A seed is all it takes.
