Great cover of this song, originally by B.W. Stevenson. "My Maria" is a song co-written by B.W. Stevenson and Daniel Moore, but Brooks and Dunn did a fine job.

I wasn't a country fan at all until I was driving my dad to the Fort regularly for PTSD treatment (a Korean vet). I'd put the country channel on for him to enjoy and learned to enjoy it with him. So it has that connection for me. Thanks for everything Pops. Everything.

I started listening once again to country in the 90's, love the artist's of this time! Saw Brooks I& Dunn in concert, awesome! They do make you jump up & down in the seat! LOL

This is actually the cover of an early 70s rock song by B.W. Stevenson. Brooks & Dunn did a FANTASTIC job on this. Ronnie Dunn did a great job of keeping the Stevenson version intact. The spirit of the song hasn't changed at all! I'd sing it for my past girlfriend, along with LIVE. She was a massive LIVE fan. This version is amazing! One of the best covers. Funny thing is the song isn't country at all (but remember, Southern Rock was big when this song was out). B.W. Stevenson had this at the same time as the Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd and so many great southern rock bands. 90s country borrowed a lot from Southern Rock. See Travis Tritt who LOVES southern rock. Especially the Allmans who are also from Georgia. In fact, Travis is from my past girlfriend's hometown!

Brooks & Dunn dominated the Country Duo awards category from the early 1990’s to the mid 2000’s. They are legends with hits like Neon Moon, Only in America, Boot Scootin’ Boogie, Red Dirt Road, and so many more. I have always loved this cover of My Maria and I remember the original.

My Maria live on CMT Crossroads is worth a look. The way the people in the crowd react is great. Men singing to their ladies, cute women singing along, excellent.

When it comes to country music, Brooks and Dunn is always a good listen. If you haven't already, check out South of Santa Fe. It's my next favorite by them after Neon Moon. Just st some good country music!
