Let's assume that currently half a billion people are in danger of starvartion. (Fewer than obese) That would make ~13$ for each, given that distribution wasn't a problem. Depending on the purchasing power of the $, it would feed the person for one or two weeks. So, the problem isn't money distribution but food distribution.
