Still think YouTube shorts are broken. Just posted a short on a popular topic that was edited in a way that’s getting people to watch for 120% of the video, but YT selected the worst possible thumbnail image from the video to use on the shorts shelf for it, which is completely destroying my click thru rate & killing off my video. Is YouTube ever going to allow creators to select our own thumbnail to use on the shorts shelf since it matters so much?!

It's taken longer the past two years to gain subscribers than it used to. Shorts have definitely helped out a ton. I wish I had started making those sooner.

Something has definitely changed, since I started with Shorts back in September, my shorts always consistently hit between 3k-12k views, with two of them going "viral" reaching 88k and 98k views. They always did this within the first hour, and when they started getting views it got alot of views quickly during a 30-minute or so period, then it died out. Right now what I've noticed is that they get less views, and it takes a lot longer for the views to start coming in.
