Understanding Post-Processed Kinematic (PPK) for Accurate GNSS Data Collection

In this video, we dive into Post-Processed Kinematic (PPK) and explore how it differs from Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) in achieving centimeter-level accuracy using GNSS receivers. Discover how PPK works and RTK.

PPK, like RTK, utilizes observations from two GNSS receivers: a static Base station and a moving Rover. The key difference lies in the timing of positional corrections—PPK resolves errors after data collection, eliminating the need for a constant connection between the Rover and the Base station. This approach simplifies the workflow and allows for longer baselines, making it ideal for surveying over large and challenging areas.

We’ll guide you through the PPK workflow, from recording raw GNSS data in the field to post-processing it on your PC for highly accurate results. Whether you’re involved in UAV mapping, land surveying, or other precision applications, PPK provides a practical solution that saves time and effort.

Just ordered a Reach RS2 for PPK since I already have a static GNSS receiver, and very much looking forward to using it for my post-retirement "hobby" surveying (yes, it is now a hobby for me as well as a profession).

Thanks for this video!
I'm thinking about purchasing an Emlid Reach RS+ and find these videos very instructional.
I am wondering if I would need a base, or could use the recording logs of a local service provider. I have no idea though where to search fr those providers/logs. I live in rural, Central Portugal (Europe). Do you have any tips on how I could find local logs that could function as a base?

Thanks for the information
Does this work like a Real time coordinate scanner?

Is it possible to collect the point with 5 seconds no matter the distance ?

When using the cors station under ppk data collection will you need to enter the height of the cors in reachview 3?
