[2.0] Why Yae is Not the Electro Archon (or The Statue), Genshin Impact

I have been seeing a lot of misinformation lately about Yae being the first or the real electro archon. Most of these "theories" are based on simplified visual aspects and do not refer to the actual lore in the game. Here's a video to debunk those theories.

I think the statue depicts the welkin moon. They look the same and the real world inspiration of the statue is called Qannon which is close to the name Canon from the three moon sisters.

Edit: Raiden‘s charged attack is a crescent moon. That’s cool.

Hi!!! I’m Gowith, the person who made the speculative picture that I posted on the wiki, comparing Yae/Raiden/Kiana’s faces with the statue. I’m so glad someone else noticed this too and I was super excited seeing you post something with the same observation and I was so shocked seeing my shitty comparison drawing thing in the video. Like many people this theory has been bothering me for awhile but you brought up so many important details that I never noticed either. Awesome video man!

Edit: Also, I know that a lot of other Honkai impact players like to theorize about the “fact” that Yae Sakura and Raiden Mei are incarnations of eachother as evidence that Raiden and Yae are somehow.... The same person or connected in some other way, but that theory is also completely debunked by the fact that *Raiden Mei has never been an incarnation of Yae Sakura*, regardless of whether or not Honkai or Genshin impact are related (which, they aren’t other than maybe on a multiverse scale.). In the previous Era Dr. MEI and Sakura were two seperate people, Sakura being one of the MANTIS’ and MEI being, well, a doctor. Yae Sakura in honkai impact is a reincarnation of the MANTIS Sakura, in the same way that Mei is a reincarnation of Kevin’s girlfriend— Dr. MEI. I don’t know why so many honkai impact players have made the conclusion that Mei and Sakura are the same people, and it’s really infuriating that that misunderstanding has entered the Genshin theory community as well

A nice speculation I read is that Yae is the reincarnation of the Kitsune Saiguu hence she was not around when the Kitsune Saiguu "died." Also why Kazari sensed a similar presence at the top of the mountain during our final conversation with her. Side question: when/where was the Great Kitsune mentioned?

People in this fandom can't seem to accept that mythical people exist in this game, even though Ganyu, Xiao, and the adepti are a thing. Yae is most likely just a fox spirit/being that could be a reincarnation of Baal's dead friend. She doesn't have any of the design leanings of an archon, and honestly I don't care for her design at all. I don't know how people got the idea that Baal doesn't dress like an archon when Venti literally dresses like a Bard and Zhongli is basically wearing a suit. And what do you know~ Baal is in a kimono. Shocker.

And to that one person who keeps commenting about why there are foxes with the electro sigils. Have you not realized that the foxes work for the shogun? Or better yet. Maybe Baal shifted into a fox at one point. The possibility is there. Zhongli used to shift into a dragon.

And speaking of Zhongli. Zhongli calling Xiao young could be in terms of adepti. Xiao is a young adepti. Or he could just be like my sister, who for some reason calls me her baby sister when I'm a grandma at this point. Yae is young, proven in game, but she can still be considered old among her kind. And knowing someone for hundreds of years is still considered old. Even to Zhongli. Whose friends are mostly all dead. Except some of his adepti.

Till this day, I find Kitsune Saiguu’s decision to protect Ioroi during the dark disaster(possibly Khaenriah war), by lying to him, quite heartwarming & sad. (I teared up when saw Ioroi and his tanukis are still waiting for her 🥲) After reading most of Saiguu’s lores, her playfulness but also very wise and caring to her friends(baal kanade etc.) made me feel that she’s such a well-written character…

THANK YOU, this theory has been driving me crazy, also notice how Yae doesn't match any aesthetic requirements of an Archon (Hair fade and glow, pupil much lighter than iris).
I honestly don't understand how people use the 'Zhongli knows Yae' as an argument when Venti also has connections with an adepti (One of the furnitures description says so), and when comparing the statues, it doesn't resemble Yae that much, if it was actually Yae, it would look identical, but it doesn't, I'm going crazy with this nonsensical theory.

Zhongli said after the Rite of Parting that the name of the Electro Archon is Baal, but in Inazuma, she's referred to as the Raiden Shogun. Those players who came up with this theory probably skip cutscenes and dialogues.

Great video! I totally agree with you lore theories should be solidly based on existing lore and not speculations. I applaud you for your methods! A lot of us noticed these but none of the prominent Genshin lore creators saw this, thank you for being keen eyed ✨ Keep it up!
