Julie, I'm an AZ nurse. Born & raised. I get it totally. Born at St. Joes hospital, 4 decades of nursing, LOVE AZ, moved from a beautiful property in the Arcadia area. Bought on my own. Single mom. Moved to Old Town Scottsdale 15 years ago. Big mistake! I miss my property & fruit trees. WHERE WAS YOUTUBE 30 years ago? I'm still a nurse & Eucharistic Minister. I take Communion to patients at hospitals & rehab. I wish l could help you! All my funds went to my son & raising him. Its hard, but l dont want hurricanes, bugs, mosquitoes, snow. We just have to deal. Huh sister! God bless you 🙏🏻 and many prayers 🙏🏻 ❤️

Give your corn stalks a Shakey shake to get those silks pollinated! That few stalks will have a hard time getting pollinated if you don't.

I just found you. I watch Justin and Rebecca, Jess from Roots and Refuge, and many other similar sites. I used to live in a house with a yard south of Tucson but the owners raised my rent and priced me out. I ended up homeless for a few months and struggled to find a new place. Now I’m in Phoenix in a senior apt complex, but they’ve raised the rent four time in two years. So I’m continuing to search for affordable housing and looking for ways to get food and keep me afloat. My apt complex has no porch or back patio so no place to grow food. I love to find ways to get food and build a storage plan to be prepared for all circumstances. I am a senior (76 years old) and don’t know people here. I love to follow people and feel like I have some “friends” that I care about. I do have friends and family in California, but it costs too much to live there. I pray that you and your family continue to be healthy and happy. Blessings come your way.
Julie

You have a true homestead. How smart you two are . All your plans and ways to continually rotate your animals is genius. Bet it cuts down on your feed bills. So glad I found this channel.Blessings.🎉

Thanks for the tour, you have a beautiful place. Here in the UK we have an association called 'Pasture for life' that farmers can become accredited to when they pasture raise their livestock. It's not just about pasture feeding stock though, it's also about regenerating the land, and encouraging wildlife back to it. It thrilled my heart to see such a diverse mix in your pasture for this reason. I think for too long the word 'pasture' has meant just grass to people, and it's why our soils are dying. Many of them have stopped feeding those large round bales in one place too, and now roll them out to take advantage of fallen seed, and left hay being mulch. It makes so much good sense. Your milk has to be so much better for it too. As for mess; no-one is ever going to lie on their death bed and wish they'd swept the porch lol

That is exactly what I feel when I watch. I find you all very inspiring and I love you show us all the things you are trying to do whether they succeed, or you learn something instead.

Hello from California....which we would love to leave someday and follow in your footsteps! I found you because I follow many of the people you just visited for Meg's baby shower! I am continuously inspired by all that these channels provide for the true grit of homesteading. I'm hoping that my husband and I can be able someday in the NEAR future to do the same. You are so down to earth and positive! I'm glad I found your channel!!

I love the fact that your family is doing things your way and you have made it work. Live the life you love and let the rest roll of your back, just like water off your cute ducks! God bless y'all and keep on

We are in NE Texas on 6 acres! We moved here in October of ‘23 and started following you summer of ‘22 (from the beginning) while we were still in suburbia. Y’all were the first people my husband said, “Ok I can relate to them.” Thank you for your contribution in souring us on to our dream property.
