Do you create a Job Scorecard for every position in your company?

If not, you're making a huge mistake.

Not having a Job Scorecard (or a clear idea of what you're hiring for) is the biggest hiring mistake I see entrepreneurs make.

If you don't know what you're hiring for and what success looks like with that position, the chances of hiring an A player are slim to none.

I heard about this concept from the book "Who" by Geoff Smart & Randy Street. In their book, they talk about the 4 S's of hiring.

After reading the book, I went online expecting to find a Job Scorecard template or instructions on how to create a job scorecard.

*crickets*

I found nothing...only one obscure template on a third party site. So I created & refined this process over the last few years while hiring 35+ people & I'm sharing it here with you.

I also walk through job scorecard templates for 2 key positions:
1. Executive Assistant
2. Sales Rep

This scorecard was a game-changer as someone coming INTO the company too. Super clear on what my expectations were upfront and also helped to see if I was a good fit for the work in general 🙌🏼

Reviewing your job scorecard periodically is also an awesome best practice to make sure that you are aligned and prioritizing effectively! The concept overall brings to both the employer and the employee and a huge level of clarity.

Absolutely LOVE this channel by the way... the hiring advice you give in your sub-10 minute videos is absolute GOLD, and the fact that you've even incorporated ScalingUp, TopGrading, and Who is just phenominal, I've already skimmed through them before and have it on my long-term to-do to eventually incorporate their tactics into my business, but I've never seen any other internet marketer teach that stuff from those 3 business bibles, so refreshing to finally have someone who actually does. By the way, have you ever considered to develop and come out with your own course for hiring A-player talent? I love your style and calibre of teaching, and unfortunately I'm just not into self-publishing, but I'm really into learning about hiring systems, and would love to learn more from you more than just what you offer on your personal channel here, so it would be so awesome if you actually had an in-depth course on hiring, that would also include a plethora of all your templates, tools, scripts, resources, etc..! What do you think about that? Something to think about perhaps?!

Hi Chandler, phenomenal tips! Was wondering though, are you able to please share a link to your actual editable g.doc plain versions of your scorecard templates that you showed in this video? The one you linked to in the description just goes to only an Elevate-branded "example" pdf, it isn't actually a "template", because it can't be edited. Also the "example pdf" that you linked to in the description isn't nearly as comprehensive as the g.doc templates you showcased in the video. Is there any chance possible you might be able to link to the g.doc Templates you showed us in this vid? Would be super helpful!:)
