On Dec 8, GrabBike riders hit the streets of Vietnam’s capital for the second day in a row to protest against the ride-hailing firm’s new policy to increase fees. At least three people have been detained. Hundreds of riders filled the streets of Hanoi after Grab hiked its commission on each GrabBike trip by more than 7%. The firm said the move is to meet Vietnam government's new tax regulations that impose a 10% value-added tax on the cost of each ride-hailing trip.

Grab is a company based in Singapore. The goal of Singapore is indeed to maximize profits in Southeast Asia.

Predictable, this is why startup appears in the first place, take over the market by aggresive expansion, then grab the profit after total domination in the market, the only way to stop this is for new competitors to appear

They should deduct their profit instead of charging drivers who they call partner and their customers, grab is a fuking thief company rather than an agent between service providers and consumers
