FFMPEG is a powerful open source (and free) video and audio processing tool that can be run on virtually every platform in existence. In fact, I find FFMPEG an invaluable tool for just about every video project I work on.

In this video, we'll look at installing FFMPEG on Mac OS and Windows and the basic command structure.

This is the most direct and easy-to-follow tutorial I've seen yet for getting started with ffmpeg. My background is in photo and video editing on mac - not in coding - so even making a simple pixel aspect ration modification to a video file using ffmpeg was basically impossible before today. brew install ffmpeg say unknown command brew anybody now what that means
