I don’t think a one base season would ever work on Hermitcraft but a ton of the hermits did express that they would like to deviate away from Mega builds and focus more on social interactions, games, and community. In the tour Gem gave Cleo, X, Ren and Joe they also talked about the possibility of just basing NEAR each other. Kinda like the soup group or boatem which I think is more probable. Plus Gem has been posting her Season X Pinterest inspo boards on twitter which definitely feels like she has a build in mind of her own, not a shared project. I think next season we’re likely to see everyone living much closer together and ditching mega builds.

The build that looks like Diagon Alley was Grian's part of the Boatem Gigabase, underneath Scar's big mountains. It was a way to not have to build the back of his base, because the back of his base would be Scar's mountain.

Maybe not one single mega mega base, but bases connected like what Pearl, Gem, and Impulse did. They did their own mega bases, and since they were very close to each other, they connected the bases creating a story

I wouldnt say they are running out of ideas. The storylines happen organically, and people have certain dynamics. Sometimes history just repeats itself

I actually would like to see them do something like Gem suggested. Still do megabases, but keep them near each other like the soup group bases. So every hermit lives next to a few other hermits and you can walk between all the bases.

i dont like speculating on stuff like this and i have a hard time articulating why. i like to see a group of friends having fun playing a game where they can express themselves in their own unique ways and interacting with each other. i like longer seasons because, as stated in the video, it allows people to take breaks and take things at their own pace. Playing with your friends, even if you earn money for it, shouldnt be a "thumbnail war" as iskall has worded it.

that being said i would absolutely love it if someone like skizz joined the group cause hes such a wholesome joy to be around. he may not be a particularly magnificent builder, but hes fun and a treat. hes always striving to be better. anyone would be a joy to have in the server, but if they stayed the same i would still be happy.

the vanilla thing is not just that anyone can play. mods also take away the challenge that comes with playing vanilla. it's easy to just get a furniture mod or the create mod and chill, but a big part that makes hermitcraft appealing(from my perspective at least) is the hard work and finding ways to make things work w/o these mods. like if they can do that much w/o having mods make things easier, than why can't I or you or anyone else?

hermitcraft made me switch to survival in the first place and the extra effort I have to put in there is definitely more rewarding than building something in creative

Numerous Hermits have said that they don't want new mods and that they think it is stretching or have gone too far already.

For now I'll say I like the longer season more. I just love Season 9, and my second is 7, and third is 8 cause it's short and has chaotic storyline which I will always love


edit: pls don't add mods. I know that free cam mode is technically a mod but it helps to work the vanilla way for decked out. I'm fine with retexturing or adding new sounds for horns or music discs but just no mods. Just stay that way

I love the idea of all the Hermits working together, but I don't think it would work as a single base. Maybe as a huge metropolis where each Hermit builds different buildings and it just keeps getting bigger. That would be sweet.

I'd also love to see Solidarity, Smallishbeans, and Skizzleman on Hermit Craft. Joel definitely has the building talent, and very fun interactions. Even though, no offense, Jim and Skizz don't have the best building skills, they more than make up with it with their social interactions. They're both hilarious and would bring a lot to the server. But hey, if not it's all good, we'll still love yea.

Something I want to add to the discussion: the Life series for SURE takes time from the hermits who are in it and by consequence makes the seasons longer. I think long seasons are just going to be the norm. If they want to keep up the amount of diverse content they have been having these last 2 years, they simply don’t have the time to devote everything to just one series

I dont like speculating about hermit craft. I think it is the perfect entertainment form already. It is clear that the Hermits did not force themselves to have fun just so that we can have fun, they are genuinely enjoying themselves, which makes it easier to watch. I also feel that creators should maintain the long seasons so that individually, they have breaks and can take it at their own pace, so as not to stress the fun that they are already having, and eventually become a machine. New additions would be welcome, but it’s not up to conspiracy theorists to figure out who it will be, and if they’re shutting down HC, and just general rumors like that. If the creators have “an INSANE Plan” then let’s let it surprise us. Looking forward to a great season!

Boatem is still the most entertaining HC group ever IMO, and a huge reason for it was that they all based together. Not only that, they ran their shops together and stuff too. They were almost constantly interacting, and that was really fun. Id have loved for them to have based together in season 9 too, especially with Scar feeling better and able to participate more. Id love to see a similar community like that, or maybe a couple, like how the Big Eyes and Octagon were also around in season 8. The prank wars and competition between them all was great

I'll also add: Despite Season 9 being the longest season to date, the amount of Hermitcraft video uploads as a whole has been relatively low. Several factors being Etho & Mumbo both taking a hiatus, Stress & Iskall's sporadic appearances between Vault Hunters, Welsknight getting burned-out, Hypno taking a short hiatus, death of TFC, Grian's "Life" series 3 times... To balance it out, Season 10 really needs to be adding at least 4-5 new Hermits to keep Hermitcraft videos in YouTube's Top New Video's playlist rotation. Obvious choices would be Sausage, Joel, Lizzie, Jimmy, and Skizz.
