Hi. I'm going to skip over all the bits that make this NOT an accurate recreation of the logo. I just want to give a very simple hint. When you're working from a model/reference image, you can simply take that image or take a screenshot and drop it onto the actual Illustrator art board you're working on. So that it's there, in front of you the entire time. Instead of the kludge of going back and forth between Illy and and your photo viewer. You can even use the reference image in the background as a template. Put it on a locked lower layer, at a lower opacity even, and draw on top of it.
