The game isn’t trying to be balanced. It is attempting to be as authentic to the source material as possible. If they wanted to capture what the series is like, then a Saibaman wouldn’t be as strong as Jiren.

Its simple, some people want excuses. They don't always want balance because in balanced fighting games when you lose you can only blame your lack of skill. To those people an unbalanced mess of a game can be more fun than a competitive game. Its less stressful because its based less on skill.

God forbid a game be fun. Overbalancing a game can lead to everyone feeling very generic or boring, and is a nightmare for the developers.
We need more games that just dont give a fuck and go up the walls

My team in the 25$ one would be:

-Goku
-Thanos
-Ben 10
-Avatar
-All in the 0$ section

Easy win because yamacha can knock out everyone in the 2$ section. Goku can 1 v 1 superman and can end him easily using TUI. Thanos can snap. Ben 10 can use alien x. Avatar and the rest in 0$ section can do something for sure so ye.

The best thing about BT3 for me was that instead of it trying to be a legitimate fighting game with balanced systems, it was a sandbox fighter. I don’t care about clone characters that are cobbled together reskins, being able to play as bardock going through Friezas Henchmen like in the special, or playing as Goku and Vegeta vs 5 Red Potara mecha coolers on namek and seeing how far I can get, THAT was the highlight of that game.

I could play out every what-if matchup I could think of, and make my own ‘storyline’ for each fight. It’s why, more than anything, I’m most looking forward to the custom content they’re adding. Honestly, I just hope they really let people utilise those custom intros and cinematics, and maybe add a character creator to the sequel for the perfect community centered Dragon Ball Game.

I don't want Sparking Zero to be balanced. I feel balance would ruin part of the charm. Beating Perfect Cell as Appule wouldn't be as fun otherwise.
