Did You Know In HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE…

The studio originally wanted to split the book into two separate movies that would be released several months apart. But the director, Mike Newell, had a different idea. He figured that he could cut out some of the bulky subplots and make a workable movie with just one film. And it turns out he was right - the film was a success! In fact, it was Alfonso Cuarón, the director of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, who convinced Newell to go with his plan.

This channel is inspired by Harry Potter Theory. I grew up loving Harry Potter and always wanted to come up with my own theories and ideas about the lore and world-building of the series. I hope you enjoy this theory video, and subscribe if you want to see more!

If they made a second GoF, they couldve included the entire quidditch world cup and the events following after, as well as S.P.E.W, with the house elves and Dobby in the kitchens which could've made only movie watchers understand the sadness book readers felt when Dobby died.

It turns out, he was not right. Books 4-7 should all have been 2 movies each. All the house elf subplots are what makes Dobby’s death so heart wrenching. Without any of that, his appearance in Deathly Hallows was like “remember this elf you haven’t seen in 5 years? He’s dead now.”

I wish they hadn't done that, two films would have meant we actually had half the book in it!!

Honestly the movies dropped so much important details, for example in Prisoner of Azkaban, they never explain that James' animagus was a stag, so when Harry sees the stag patronus, he says I saw my dad which would have confused anyone who never read the books.

They also never show us more of Harry and Dobbys relationship after the chamber of secrets, which makes the scene where he dies way less sad to people who never read the book.

Imagine a faithful Harry Potter series in HBO. 1 seasons per book, 8-11 episodes a season.

They could have added the Weasley twin subplot and Voldemort and Wormtail reuniting

And that's why we never saw the Quidditch World Cup! Thank you so much!

A super rare moment where greed was quelled in Warner Brothers Studios.
Now we have fantastic beasts

Everyone's blaming Alfonso and Mike. Get a grip people. What about the screenplay writer?? Wasn't he the same guy in all of the movies? He was in part the responsible one to make the story work throughout all of the films.
Now, if you ask me, in an ideal world, all of the films would've been directed by the same filmmaker, that way the remarks in the story and the actings of the characters would've been more consistent.

You act like you could've done a better job. And no, I'm not a huge fan of some of these movies, and yes, I've read the books. But I still enjoy watching the movies and also have a life of my own to worry too much.

Adapting movies is not easy, specially when everyone working in it has a boss that has the final word in it.

And when I get angry about a sub-plot not being in the movie, I go back to the books.

I honestly would have rather they kept the subplots. That’s the fun part!

They should have made it into two movies. From GoF onwards the movies went downhill when it came to being true to the books. A tv series would have been a better way to go. Then hopefully more key plot points could have been kept in.

The fourth and fifth movies should both have been two-parters.

Yeah but I think having all the extra stuff would have made 2 successful movies also. People just love more of the lore

That movie confused the hell out of me when I was a kid, but then again I never read The books until later on so yeah cutting all that out didn't do me any favors lol

He should have stayed with two parts. Maybe Dumbledore would have had enough time to be calm when he asked harry if he put his name in the goblet of fire.

God Damnit Quaron this was the Book that needed to be cut into two movies...this move caused a chain reaction of lose plot threads and miss opportunities...wish he kept his mouth closed
