the beat at the end of the 'scales' section is so hard. Whose beat is it?

Took notes on the entire chop it up section. Tried to do the exact same thing step by step in Ableton. For whatever reason, it would not playback the audio in the audio track. It wouldn't at all unless I threw the audio into the track itself and it converted to a melody for midi input. I know im supposed to be able to hear it without doing that. Does anyone hve any help? or suggestions? I have been trying to adjust my MIDI and Audio Input/Output Config for a while now.
