This seems like a much more elegant solution than my 2 old toothbrushes taped together with the bristles facing each other 😂

a chain cleaner and chain checker are such an overlooked tool . everyone should have one in their kit. Saves money over time too!

The real question is what to do with the thing when done. I’ve used mine several times and I would rank it somewhere between a leaky inkjet cartridge and a used oil filter. It really needs its own storage container.

How do you clean the brush bristles because be full of grease and gunk

I use the same chain cleaner and agree that it works really well. I actually use it rather sparingly, depending conditions. If things are fairly clean I'll just clean the gunk off the chain with a rag and reapply some chain lube. If it's dirty ... then I'll use the chain cleaner. In that case I would probably recommend cleaning the entire drivetrain (with brushes and degreaser) as there is still grit and gunk on the cassette, chain ring, etc.

always told myself that it's not worth it for my cheapo commuter to clean and check the chain for wear, cause the whole drivetrain (3x7) costs <100€ to replace. But after having those tools for my "better" bikes i must admit even on that commuter it makes sense. cleaning and replacing worn chain (~10€) almost tripled the life of chainrings and sprocket 😅 so keep ya bikes maintained guys 😬

If I don't have a place to hose, can I use the scrubber and fill it with warm water to rinse the chains?
