This is why I`ve unsubbed to almost all the ``beauty guru`s`` I know. I feel bad for young girls growing up and learning how to do makeup for the first time because most of these guru`s only know how to do the one look. The Instagram makeup look that looks great under studio lights, but cakey and clownish in real life.

Not to mention that they barely ever do tutorials anymore, and it`s all about pushing expensive luxury products on little girls. When I grew up I learned to do makeup from Michelle Phan, who did minimal looks and focused on teaching techniques, not pushing products. She`d say, take a taupe color and sweep in the crease, not use this specific taupe from the latest ABH palette.

It`s why I`m only subbed to REAL makeup artists like Wayne, Pixiwoos, Lisa Eldridge, and Monica Blunder who know what they`re doing and focus on the artistry, not the products.

Recently I have abandoned foundation, just do some subtle contouring/correcting, while letting my freckles show. It's a cute look, no one needs all those layers ! Love your videos Wayne x

My problem with these "gurus" is they don't know how to contour for different face shapes; only their own so when I see their videos of "how to contour!" it makes me cringe because they usually have the "perfect" face shape that doesn't actually need that much contouring.

This is so absolutely true! I always see those Instagram videos, and while it does look good on my screen, and I know that in real life it would look ABSOLUTELY TERRIFYING.

Thank I've been a licensed Esthetician and Makeup Artist for over 15 years and nobody EVER brings in an Instagram photo and says make me look like that. And nobody asks for unrealistic highlighter. Can't wait for these trends to die. And all these guru's aren't licensed. They only know how to apply makeup on themselves. ✌❤💄
