Oof, girl, did your little ballet speech hit a spot for me as a former competitive figure skater who made the same decision like yourself going to uni and then returning after half a decade as a “hobbyist” to the ice - the being rusty, the identity crisis at the beginning of uni (no longer being a skater), the perfectionism and disappointment after feeling the loss of certain skills that took years to master/acquire; so relatable! … among other things: lovely seeing you and Lola again - y’all are cute af 😇 sending a hug from Europe

PLEASE share more of your dancing journey! As someone who's started ballet "late" in life, it's so interesting to hear dancers having the opportunity to be a professional but choosing not to. I always wanted to but never had the chance because my family didn't have the money for lessons when I needed to be taking them. I was devastated for years until I realized I could just dance for the joy of dancing instead of making it my career. 

Hearing you speak about going through an identity crisis, resdiscovering the joy of dance and now hoping to somehow monetize it anyway gives me a lot of inspiration and hope.

It’s totally ok to do something just as a hobby because we love it, and it’s even ok to not be good at something we love to do. It’s sad that there’s such a pressure to be good in everything we do, it takes the fun out of things

Thank you for sharing your changing relationship with ballet! I've recently had to stop doing ballet for a few months as well as I just started college and I really found it comforting knowing that I'm not the only one. I also resonate with you about how it was your whole identity and how you had an identity crisis when you stopped because I went through the same thing. I do think it is a blessing in disguise because it helped me figure out who I am outside of ballet. Thank you again :)💖

i almost had the same tough decision but i chose to become a dance major. so it was tough watching my ballerina friends transition from rigorous training to doing it as a workout but i try my best to inspire them and not to give it up 💪😤

I started ballet when I was 6 as well and was forced to stop at 13. I still watch videos about it because doing ballet just made me feel good about myself and I was blessed to have a lovely teacher !!
I'm so happy you can still find a way to continue dancing and do something you love and enjoy. I can't wait to see more of it in your vlogs xx

You inspire me to take ballet classes even though I’m already an adult but to do it as a hobby. I have always dreamed about doing ballet but never did anything about it. Now that I am older I want to try it because that’s what I want to do just to experience it and if I like it I’ll keep doing it. If ballet is not for me at least I’ll know it and I’ll keep trying out things that interests me ☺️

Please make more ballet videos! Like many in these comments, I did not have exposure to dance and was not able to discover it/take classes until I was older at 19. I'm still discouraged about my age and inability to monetize dance in a conventional way, but I love feeling myself progress and feel more at home in my body. Ballet specifically is just such a beautiful art form. Seeing you vlog about it would be great
