Hey, former barista here. Don't do the ice thing, and here's why: When someone asks for no ice in, say, a pink drink, what you're getting is extra coconut milk without ice. We don't add extra strawberry acai, and if we do, you're going to get a different tasting drink every time since we use the lines on the cup to measure the ingredients, and it fills up perfectly to the rim once the ice is added.
Here's some more examples so you see what I mean:
An iced latte with no ice doesn't get more espresso, it gets more milk.
An iced coffee with cream and no ice will get extra cream, and maybe a bit more iced coffee, leading to a lot of back and forth until the cream ratio is correct.
A shaken espresso with no ice becomes a room temp latte, because there's nothing to shake the espresso with to cool it and foam it, and you're getting way more milk.
The ONLY thing this works for is if you want black iced coffee or cold brew, then you actually just get more of it and it will taste the same each time.
Tldr; If you order no ice, prepare for everything to taste inconsistent and watered down. It's what baristas are trained to do.
