Thanks Toby, your sketches and tutorials really help me with my own wonky style. From Australia.

Your style resonates with me so strongly. It's inspired me to begin using the kit I've owned for years!

Because you calm me so much by you're voice, you're delicate brush stroke, no music in background. I feel in love with you're method but afraid to start. I'm on lesson 7 of you're 10 days sketch for beginner, and finally I got it! So fun, and rewarding.

I love these real life videos Toby. Balancing water on your knee with a dog inn row is always fun. I can't even begin to imagine doing out with a camera too! Love it. Thank you!

It is so interesting to find out how you see a scene.I would not have found this row of houses very interesting. I like the sketch a lot more than the real scene. Cool😮

Like that size paper Toby - ideally suited to landscape in general and that scene in particular

Thanks very much Toby for posting. I've just finished this exercise and produced somethig I like! Big win. Helpful hint that - don't count the windows haha. It's like a gong going off somewhere.

I like the light poles and using the lines in the scene.

Love it! I love it because you sketch … and then add a little color to the sketch to bring points out. You’re not afraid to leave your sketch a sketch, if you know what I mean. 😊 You keep it simple, understandable, and fun for beginners. Keep it up!

Love your positive, friendly videos.
I’m a perfectionist — which is a real pain in the derriere — trying to ‘let go’ to sketch loosely.
BTW, I’m told by those in painterly circles that the paper brand (Arches) is pronounced ‘arsh’ and not ‘arches’.
‘Arsh’ makes it sound so much more arty, special and, well, French. 😎

Another really good and helpful video, Toby. I am trying to sketch what I see but my hand, eye and brain are not cooperating with each other, lol. I have terrible trouble with things like angles and church towers and arched windows. So frustrating! I keep trying.
Thank you. 😃👍

You have the roof going downhill just a smidge. Is that on purpose ? Love your gifg and always encourages me !

Helpful thank you. Didn't get why the roof is left white when it is really quite dark?

I like your colours in this, plus your choices as to where you colour. We had painting classes at my Day Centre and within 5 minutes the tutor saw what I was doing and yelled, "God's feathers!" - it was so bad. I've not tried again but I may have a go with at least your ink style (leave the colouring for later). What ink pen do you use? Thanks.

So inspiring you’re way of loose painting and the way you speak your way through. My paintings became to overworked. I give this a try! Which ink do you use in your Lamy pen?
